Contemporary artist, Tanner Lawley, paints from a place that is based out of love, abundance and his compassion for others. Growing up in a small town, southeast of Dallas, Tanner’s love of art started in grade school. He competed in UIL Picture Memory which students across the state studied masterworks of art. In his teens he began to work for his father’s painting business, which had a contract with the Dallas Museum of Arts.  They would tear down, rebuild, and paint the exhibition walls for the upcoming museum shows.

During his college years Tanner's course of study was business. He graduated with a BBA from Freed-Hardeman University in May of 1999. After graduation he moved to Nashville, TN.  Being a natural "people-person," he started running in circles with several celebrity musicians and athletes. His large stature and martial arts background led him to perform security and bodyguard jobs for several clients across the country. Tanner began creating art over a decade ago in response to a period of personal and emotional challenge. His artwork was the only thing that would take his mind off of his external circumstances and environment.

In June of 2006, he started working and studying with a group of Dallas artists by the names of JD Miller, Corky Pearson, Emil Cerullo and Phillip Romano. This led him to manage a group of fine art galleries representing an internationally acclaimed group of artists such as Peter Max, Alexandra Nechita, Pierre Matisse and Alexandre Renoir. While working with these artists, Tanner began creating oil paintings daily while getting his art education in the process.

Since August of 2008, Tanner has created thousands of original artworks that you can find in several galleries, public and private collections. As a performance painter, he is best known for painting to a live audience one of his signature expressionistic symbols of Love. While at a show in New York, Tanner was awarded the 2014 Art Expo’s Best New Exhibitor award. In 2015, he began the year exhibiting in Scottsdale, Arizona at the 25th Anniversary of the Celebration of Fine Art, for his 3rd consecutive year.  After a record year in Scottsdale, Tanner opened a new fine art gallery, The Lawley Art Group, which is located in the heart of the Design District. You can also find his works in New York and Miami markets.  In November of 2016, Tanner has been accepted in his first International art show in Brussels, Belgium at Cube Art Fair and will be represented by Vogelsang Galleries in Brussels as well.  Tanner paints and lives in Dallas, TX, with his wife D’Anne and daughters Haven Alyse and Margot Eleanor.
